World Duty Free operates Glasgow Bond, one of our two bonded warehouses, where we securely store goods that are subject to import duty and VAT. A bonded warehouse like Glasgow Bond plays a crucial role in our operations by allowing us to hold stock under what’s known as Duty Suspended status. This means that the relevant taxes are only paid when the items are sold in one of our air-side stores or shipped to a land-side location. This setup enables us to efficiently manage our inventory while ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
Due to the specialised nature of this warehouse, it is subject to rigorous oversight and can be audited by Customs at any time. This ensures that all procedures are followed correctly and that our operations remain transparent and fully compliant with legal requirements.
