In our store at Exeter, you’ll promote leading beauty brands such as Lancôme and Clinique, alongside an extensive selection of designer fragrances. Additionally, you’ll offer expert advice on luxury jewellery and sunglasses from renowned brands like Ray-Ban and Oakley. Our store also features a diverse range of whiskies, champagnes, fine wines, and spirits, ensuring a premium shopping experience for travellers.

Life at Exeter

The World Duty Free team of 12 at Exeter airport is friendly and flexible – the majority of them have worked here for many years as they love Airport Life! With lots of regular flights to Jersey and Guernsey, the team enjoy building rapport with repeat customers who regularly visit our store, along with maintaining our high standards of store housekeeping.

Because we are a small team we all have to be flexible – we have no set shifts but weekends and Sundays off are shared on a 5 week rota system. Our customer service assistants (CSAs) are generally recruited on 24 hour contracts (4 days in every 7 days) with hours being reduced to 6 hours per week during the winter months.

When it comes to your Induction – prepare for an exciting and immersive day! You’ll begin by meeting the team, diving into our service standards, and taking a tour of the terminal to familiarise yourself with the space. After engaging sessions on sales and our Level Up virtual tour, you’ll explore our work social network and finalise details such as your uniform order. We’ll also guide you through essential tools, from our communication platform to valuable resources. Expect a day full of learning, connection, and a fantastic start to your journey with World Duty Free!

Arriving for your Interview

Important Information

When you arrive, you need to go to the Information Desk located close to International Arrivals.

Bus or Train

If you arrive by bus please follow the signs for the terminal building. Public Transport can be limited, so we do suggest travelling by car if possible.

Driving

If you arrive by car please park in the short term terminal car park P1. Then follow the signs for the terminal building. The cost of your travel and parking is not reimbursed.

Things to know about working at Exeter

As you’ll be working airside, you’ll need to be security cleared before you can start work. This can take 6-12 weeks from when you’re offered a role. We manage this process for you and will have checked your basic details prior to interview, so the chances are this will all go smoothly.

You’ll need to pass through airport Security each time you arrive for work (it’s just like going on holiday!) – this can take around 30 minutes. You need to incorporate getting through security into your travel time.
